Can something other than a UTI cause these symptoms?
Yes. Several conditions can cause similar urinary discomfort, which is why an evaluation is more useful than self-diagnosis.
Should I use leftover antibiotics?
No. Patients should be evaluated so treatment is based on the current concern and the provider’s assessment.
When should urinary symptoms be treated as more urgent?
Fever, significant back or side pain, vomiting, pregnancy, or rapidly worsening symptoms deserve prompt medical attention.
